Through Your Child's Eyes: American Sign Language

This film describes the importance of language access in the development of children. It explains that for Deaf children, this often means early access to American Sign Language which, by virtue of its visual nature, is readily accessible to Deaf children. This early access to language is crucial to ensure proper cognitive, social and emotional development. Produced by California State University, Northridge's Department of Deaf Education and Deaf Studies and the National Center on Deafness.

This is a great film. Beautifully done and it shows why access to language is so important and why ASL works so well for Deaf people. I'm going to show this to all of my friends so they can understand better what I'm always trying to tell them.
