Mary: Shiku, Caring Hands

Mary is the mother of a deaf and blind child. Her story tells of the struggles of finding a school for her child in Kenya, and of her own lessons in bringing up and educating her beautiful daughter. Mary offers insights for other parents of deaf and blind children. This story was made in a 5-day workshop in 2009 organised by the African Decade for People with disabilities, in association with the Association for Progressive Communications and Women'sNet.
