SEE HEAR !'s FIRST EVER BLACK DEAF PROGRAMME
This video clip was taken on 17th May 1992 and it explores an insight of our identity in a British society: Deaf first and Black second or the other way round ?
Kevin Buckle, himself Deaf of Jamaican parentage made his debut as a presenter of the ground breaking BBC programme with a brilliant and eloquent interpreter, Sherrie Eugene from Bristol.
See how nervous was he - it seemed he signed in a rather stiffy and wooden manner ! It was his first time on the national TV.
